YEREVAN, MAY 23, ARMENPRESS: A team of Swiss wine makers, who were recently
visiting Armenia at the invitation of USDA Marketing Assistance Project (MAP),
spoke highly about the quality of Armenia-made wines.
MAP said to Armenpress that Swiss wine makers had visited a number of local
wineries, which are beneficiaries of MAP technical and financial assistance,
and were shown Armenian wine making technologies and also shared their experience
in how to develop a wine making strategy development.
They have also donated some laboratory and other devices,
as well as some materials to help Armenian winemakers raise the quality and
improve the taste of their wines.
Head of the group Hans Pfenninger, who owns a big winery in his country and
also is a consultant to Swiss Federal Institute of Wine, pledged to continue
supporting Armenian colleagues.
