OSCE Yerevan Office Launches New Website

YEREVAN, APRIL 15, ARMENPRESS: As a follow up to the seminar held last year on economic competition, the OSCE Office in Yerevan will be officially launching www.competitionpolicy.am web-site April 17 to provide the full range of information on economic competition policy reform in Armenia and to strengthen the transparency of the work, structure and policy of the State Commission on Protection of Economic Competition.

The OSCE Office in Yerevan in co-operation with the USAID and the AEPLAC held a seminar on Good Governance in Economic Policy Development in Armenia: Promoting Economic Competition in September 2002. The main objective was to support ongoing economic reforms aimed at economic efficiency, growth and stability for the benefit of businesses and consumers. The idea was to bring together the Armenian Competition Authority and ministries, regulatory agencies and other governmental bodies that formulate, enact and administrate policies affecting market conditions in order to raise awareness of the need to incorporate competition principles into the general framework of ongoing anti-corruption and poverty reduction endeavors.
