BRAZILIAN COMPANIES INTERESTED IN ARMENIAN CANNED GOODS, WINES AND BRANDY


SAO PAOLO, MAY 2, ARMENPRESS: By the invitation of secretary of Brazilian Sao Paolo state’s agricultural department, Armenian agricultural minister David Zadoyan together with council chairman of “Amasia-Kat” OSC Gor Khechoyan and director of Nagorno Karabagh factory of canned goods Karen Esayan was on a visit in Brazil April 21-27.

As it was reported from Armenian Consulate in Sao Paolo, during the visit a number of meetings with the representatives of Brazilian agricultural authorities, scientific establishments, processing plants, leading companies dealing with import and export were held. During these meetings the sides discussed the perspectives of development of bilateral ties, issues and suggestions concerning the strengthening of import and export of goods, Brazilian investments in Armenia, establishment of joint enterprises.

Brazilians will particularly work on suggestions on construction of sugar processing plant in Armenia, import of chemical fertilizers via Armenian-Russian joint companies. Sadia company will instruct its representative in Eastern Europe to come to Armenia and research terms of establishment of a battery farm.
A preliminary agreement was reached with a number of Brazilian companies that, after familiarization with samples of Armenian production, trade agreements will be signed with Armenian companies on export of canned goods, wines and brandy.
During the visit Zadoyan also met with the chairman of the state’s legislative council and a group of its deputies. In the cities of Ozasco and San Kaetano, after meeting with local authorities, Armenian agricultural minister met with local businessmen, representatives of trade and industry associations. Armenian delegation also visited the building which will be provided by municipality of San Kaetano to Armenian and Russian Consulates, for establishment of Armenian-Russian House permanent exhibition of production.

When visiting Feraz de Vaskonselos province, Zadoyan delivered a certificate of Armenian agricultural ministry to Armenian expert, chairman of local viticulture specialists Serge Semerjian, for his contribution into the development of Armenian-Brazilian bilateral cooperation.
