JUNE 9, NOYAN TAPAN. Another consignment of 1,000 bottles of
Armenian wine will be sent to the London museum complex "VINEPOLIS"
with the assistance of the USDA Marketing Assistance Project (MAP) within next
month. The thousand bottles of wine of 6 sorts of the "Vedi Alco",
"Getnatun", "Vayots Dzor" companies and Ijevan Winery imported
a month ago have been already sold out, the MAP marketing consultant Naira Mkrtchian
revealed in an interview with Noyan Tapan. Meanwhile, a bottle of Armenian wine
costs 5-9 sterling pounds (around $ 7.5 - 12.5) at "Vinepolis."
A national museum pavilion of Armenia will be opened soon at the "Vinepolis"
on the MAP initiative. Different sorts of Armenian grapes and wine will be on
display at the pavilion. Four sorts of the Armenian wine were also displayed
at the international exposition held in late May in London, Ms. Mkrtchian said.
As a result, a number of businessmen exporting wine to the UK developed interest
in Armenian wine and plan to visit Armenia with the objective of establishing
business relationships.
