JUNE 9, NOYAN TAPAN. The RA Department of State Property implements
the "Preparatory Project on Reorganization of Companies" with the
assistance of the World Bank (WB) with the aim to restore activities of the
large Armenian large companies fully or partially idling over the past few years.
Four Yerevan companies ("Connect", "Electron", Vitamin Factory
and Milling Machines Plant) are expected to be reorganized on the current stage
of the implementation of the project, the project coordinator Vacheh Kirakosian
told Noyan Tapan.
The regional companies will be involved in the project on the later stages.
The research and definition of possible directions for their development and
the market's demands staged together with the management of the aforementioned
companies are expected to be conducted in terms of the project, Mr. Kirakosian
said. The companies without perspective for main production will be proposed
to create industrial parks with the consideration to peculiarities of the company
in question. Meanwhile, the pattern for exploitation of large companies of the
Republic via creation of industrial parks was also elaborated by the business-consulting
fund "Hayconsult."
Favorable conditions for the development of small and medium business will be
created in the parks, the fund executive director Gagik Makarian said. In particular,
companies situated on the territory of the parks will have an opportunity to
make use of service offered reciprocally on relatively low tariffs. The Department
cooperates with Moldovan experts in terms of the project, for Moldova has acquired
a substantial experience and achieved the best results in the sphere of reorganization
of companies among the states of the former USSR since 1995, Mr. Kirakosian
claimed.
