Armenian Wine Wins Gold Medal In Moscow

YEREVAN, October 2 (Noyan Tapan). The Armenian 'Hin Ijevan' wine was awarded the gold medal the 'Year's product' category competition held as part of the World Food Moscow-2002 International Exhibition held September 25-28.

Some varieties of 'Noyan' natural juices were awarded bronze medals. Nora Alanakian, the marketing specialist of the Marketing Support Program of the US Department of Agriculture, told Noyan Tapan that five wine producing, four cheese producing and one juice producing Armenian companies were participating in the exhibition. They were able to submit their products with the financial assistance of the Marketing Support Program. She also said that a number of preliminary arrangements on the sale of the Armenian wines have been reached with Russian businessmen.

According to Alanakian, close to 700 companies from 49 countries participated at the exhibit and nearly 50,000 people attended, including retail and wholesale trade representatives.
