Los Angeles ­ A community wide drive to mobilize support for the Armenian-American Mammography University Center (AAMUC) culminated in a special fundraising event on May 5, at the Los Angeles Public Library¹s Mark Taper auditorium.

Since January over $46,000 has been raised. These funds will support the recent expansion of the AAMUC to include an in-house pathology lab and a mobile clinic to reach women in more remote areas of Armenia.

The evening also included the screening of powerful documentary video on the AAMUC. The video comprised various segments on the Center¹s diagnostic facilities, as well as testimonies of a number of Armenian women whose lives were saved by early detection of breast cancer.
